Polished Farmhouse Family Room

I am happy to announce I just completed my Family Room update. I shared here about a year ago our changes that we made to the room below. The image you see is from when the previous owners lived here and basically what we walked into when viewing this home for the first time. Kind of makes you scratch your head a bit on why I would have purchased the home in the first place...POTENTIAL, potential, potential!
So the initial makeover is where it was all at! new paint on the walls, some bargain finds to add furniture in here, and then just some TLC and pretty accessories! As you can see dramatic difference!
Though the space felt more like me! and had a prettier feel, it still felt like it was lacking a bit and that there can definitely be some tweaking to make it more complete. So I re-white washed the bricks to make them brighter then what you see in the photo, and added some new accessories, and last updated that cabinet on the far right side of the room.
And here's the AFTER! a brighter brick facade and a dramatic deep charcoal cabinet. The best were the accessories I added, such as a new GORGEOUS gray jute area rug, and that stunning lamp that feels more farmhouse then the original.
As you can see the cabinet got this major upgrade with a little paint and some added details to make it much more farmhouse and less modern.
This horse photo completed the look on this wall. I love the still image and how the wall feels more filled with this here verses the previous mirror.
Sometimes, it's not about updating a room totally, but making small changes that makes the room feel refreshed and exciting. I live for design, so making changes in my house helps make it feel fresh for me and a place where it feels there are endless possibilities. I never want a room to ever feel "finished" I like having new ideas to reach for and especially doing it on a budget!
