This might sound funky, but boil a teapot of water and pour the boiling water on the ant trail. It works best to find the source / anthill where they're coming from. It's better than chemicals. If you need to use chemicals, try diazinon.

Try pouring baking soda in all the ares where the ants are and follow up with white vinegar. Just like inside it start to bubble up and hopefully destroy the colony. If that does not work you may have to apply special chemicals for ants such as Bug be gone from ortho.

I've read that ants don't like scent of lemon. Try squeezing some on the ant trail, and the source. Don't know if it actually does the job, but at least it's not toxic. Also read that ants don't like talcum powder. Again, could be an old wives tale, but you never know. From Australia!

Believe it or not: AJAX has always worked around our house. As soon as they show up, we sprinkle the AJAX and, "Hasta LA Vista Baby"!

They might be on your drive way but they are coming from somewhere else. You need to find their nest. And spray it. Anything plastic if it is in your shrubs, or flower garden you need to pull it up. Dead leaves trash, plastic they nest under all that stuff.

Maybe teach them to drive? lol Sorry, just thought that as I read it. Best way is to drop poison into a small lid and they will eventually carry it all away to their nest.

I put lemon juice in the crack. I have not seen any ants in the area. Thank you for the tip.

Diatomaceous earth...it works wonders. It got rid of all my spiders, ants, etc. They sell it on amazon along with a free email sent to you with all the instructions. Generously priced too!
  • packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are coming in if you can find it, or even on your counter in a small lid. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.
