#diylikeaboss Look What I Found On The Curb When I Took A Wrong Turn

I get lost going around the block, this day was no exception but lucky for me I found a solid wood cabinet on the curb. I quickly pulled into the next parking lot and lugged this heavy piece of furniture to my car.
I immediately had a vision this could be turned into a sweet cottage cabinet with DIY white chalk paint.
To further enhance the simple look I painted the top and the inside of the drawer using cheese cloth and 3 colors of paint in brown tones.
After painting a base coat, I poured a dark brown and a medium brown into a pie tin and then got to work. I dipped the cheese cloth into the two colors and rolled it around the cabinet top and then the inside of the drawer.
After I completed this technique I used a protector for faux finised and put the glass on the top. The DIY white chalk paint was lightly sanded and waxed.
The brass hardware was cleaned up.
This piece went from beat up
To a sweet Cottage Looking Cabinet
