The outside looks and is wearing well, What happened?

Rose Stumpp on Jan 31, 2016Maybe you put latex over oil-based paint? That's the only time I've seen peeling like you're describing. (I've found out the hard way you never know what the former owner has done to your home before you start working on it)Helpful Reply

Int2363025 on Jan 31, 2016You were right in cleaning with tsp but, what was your next step before you started to paint? #1 question what did you do next? Did you sand, what kind of primer, what kind of top coat? The inside shelves get much more wear than the outside..as in dragging the dishes in and out each time they are used? Not an easy quick job but, doing it right the first time is better than having to do it over.....Helpful Reply

Johnchip on Jan 31, 2016Easy fix; spray glue down drawer paper liner, or nice wall paper pieces, seal with utrethane.Helpful Reply

Reposhture Studio - Kim on Feb 01, 2016did you use a good quality primer and give the cabinets a good sanding? if not I know this is a pain and double the work, but I would take everything out and sand and prime. Get your primer tinted to the color or you paint and it will take less coats of the top coat. So sorry to hear this.Helpful Reply
