Display Hutch

Our old house has steam radiators that cannot be removed or replaced without a huge expense. They are not all conveniently located and this one is in the living room between the two front windows.
It hinders us from putting furniture against the wall. We needed a solution.
These porch posts (pulled from a neighbors garbage) would be part of the solution. I planned to build display shelving. The bottom needed to remain open so the heat can circulate. Old steam radiators get very hot!
I found this hutch top on Craigslist. Now the plan was formulating. A piece of lumber from Home Depot became a table top and my husband built the skirt that attached directly to the wall.
Now, a fresh coat of paint. And it is ready for decorating and that changes depending on the season.
