Our upstairs master en suite is quite small. Small enough that we have to have a small sink and sink cabinet out of necessity. We chose a sink and cabinet from Ikea but longed for a cabinet with more character than the stock, white, laminate cabinet available at Ikea.
How we added vintage flair to our stock Ikea Laminate bathroom sink cabinet.
This was what our sink cabinet looked like before.
I attached trim to the cabinet doors to achieve a shaker style.
I then primed the cabinet using my favorite Zinsser primer. This is the key to getting paint to stick to laminate furniture.
I then faux painted the cabinet to achieve the weathered vintage look I desired.
When I was finished I added two mercury glass door knobs.
