My old utensil drawer left a lot to be desired... so with a mere $10 and the I set out to turn this under-utilized drawer into something much more functional.
From sparse and sliding around to having a place for everything! Click on the blog link below for a full play-by-play of details.

As I was putting my new silverware away, I realized that my existing plastic organizer didn't have enough room for each type of spoon, fork, and knife I now owned. If I combined types together, not only did this annoy me, but the stack got too high and would slide over the dividers, basically creating a mismatched pile as the drawer was opened and closed. Arg!
Reorganizing this drawer also provided prime opportunity to whittle out all of the older, mismatched silverware that I still had from college and put them aside for donating. The new flatware set is a lot heavier and feels much more grown up!
The key to getting the organizer to work is to make it stable and square. Precise measurements on the drawer and LOTS of dry fitting are the key! Click the blog link below for more tips!
This is how the kitchen used to look... it is SO different now! To see other kitchen projects, check out http://bit.ly/UDHKitchenReno for all of the makeover details.
