DIY Custom Gray Painted Bathroom Vanity From a Builder Grade Cabinet

After a major plumbing dilemma with an expensive Pottery Barn vanity, I thought our dreams of a beautiful custom vanity were lost. But I was wrong! We picked up this vanity from Home Depot (out of a box!), painted it, added a custom marble countertop, adding some trim and added custom glass knobs. Voila! The perfect custom vanity. Check out my original posts including the painting post and the final reveal post for more info about paint colors and sources! Isn't she beautiful?! My custom DIY vanity for our remodeled spa-like bathroom.
Here's the white vanity before we painted it, right out of the box.
With just a coat of grey paint on her, she was already looking like a different vanity altogether!
We also added a custom white marble top fitted for the standard-size 60 inch vanity.
And added a small strip of trim down by the tile so that the vanity looked built in to the wall.
Finally, we added glass knobs to give the piece a little bit of character.
I think she turned out beautiful, don't you?!
Enjoyed the project?
