  • If your yard is sunny, my first thought is to build some raised beds with gravel pathways.
  • The first question is "what do you want from your backyard?" garden, entertaining, flowers, do you have pets, kids? Why did the grass die? Lack of sunlight? lack of water? Drainage problems? there are many things to consider when working in your yard. if you live in an area where water restrictions and droughts determine your plantings, then I would go native with grasses and flowers to transform your backyard. Pictures would help too.

My first question is "Why is the grass dead in the first place?" If you don't correct that problem, then trying to grow more grass, or anything else for that matter, will be hard.
