Adrian Vranceanu on Feb 09, 2016If you want to paint its , use some concentrated bleach to "paint" with a brush the affected areas . In 10 min . or so , you'll see the effect.., leave it dry outside to loose the odor ! Be aware , use rubber gloves and googles , concentrated bleach burn the skin like hell ..!!!Happy painting !Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Feb 09, 2016If this is on leather or on upholstered furniture you can't remover it, Hard surfaces can withstand more intensive cleaning. Wear goggles, a mask and gloves to protect you from the mold. Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter to remove surface mold. Mix water and a non-ammonia detergent together and scrub the entire surface. Use a non-abrasive scrubber to avoid damaging the wood finishes. Wipe the detergent mixture off. Mix 1/4 cup bleach with 1 gallon of water and spray all surfaces. Leave the mixture on for at least 6 hours, and then move the furniture outside to dry in the sunlight. Mold is pretty dangerous regardless of what people say. Wear a mask when your cleaning it. At the very least. I went into a old old home with tons of great old furniture in it and it all had mold. We were cleaning and carrying it outside and I was thrilled! At 3:00 am in the morning I was running a fever and so sick I couldn't breath. I ended up in. The hospital in some little town in Arkansas. Wear a mask.Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Feb 09, 2016For a non-toxic approach you can use baking soda if there is upholstery. Make a mixture in a spray bottle with water. Wet the entire fabric and leave on long enough to aid in killing off the mold.If there is wood try dabbing hydrogen peroxide and water on the mold spots. Follow with cleaning with a mild dish soap.Helpful Reply
