You can give these pretty seed tapes as a favor or make them for your own garden. It's a fun and inexpensive project that even the kids can do with you.

Carol Collins on Aug 11, 2014I had an awesome mentor when I was a young bride and first starting out gardening and canning. She would do a "rainy day" project with her grandkids every year and she used cheap 2-ply toilet paper. They would roll it out, seperate the plys, spritz lightly with water and then sprinkle on the seeds. The dampness kept the seeds from moving around and then let the second ply stick back together. It is a material the decomposes easily and the kids loved "helping" grandma and made planting things like carrots with such a tiny seed much easier to do. Sure do miss her. A great example of "green living" at its best.
