Janet Pizaro on Feb 11, 2016That is such a pretty window. Would consider using Roman shades. During the day you will have light and night time privacy.Helpful Reply

MN Mom on Feb 11, 2016You certainly have competition focal points to consider. I like your cornice idea with a stationary panel on each side. Although the swag that is up now is pretty, there are too many lines going on and the draping adds confusion.Helpful Reply

Country Design Home on Feb 12, 2016Those palladian windows are gorgeous! It is a shame to hide the curves- if you don't need the privacy factor, I would leave them without any window treatment. If you wanted to show off those curves, how about some blinds like these: Otherwise, I would hang drapes from the bottom of the arched curve like this:Helpful Reply

Shari on Feb 12, 2016I 100% agree with Sue about the windows being gorgeous and since it doesn't look like you have anything on the windows now for privacy, temperature or light control, why bother with any window treatment at all? Embrace those curves and flaunt them! ;)Helpful Reply

Moxie on Feb 13, 2016Beautuful space! If it was mine i would use the fabric acordian shade (jc penney has very reasonably priced ones) on the large lower windows and leave the rest without.Helpful Reply

Patricia Flynn on Feb 17, 2016I would take the panes out of the windows, the fireplace is blocking the light, I would then hang a drape on each side of the windows pulled back with rope braided decorative tie backs.Helpful Reply

Sue on Feb 18, 2016Beautiful windows! Paint the wall a soft, off- white, and then hang floor to ceiling curtains on the wall on both sides of the window. This would give the illusion of a whole wall of windows, You'd be adding light to your room with the new color and do nothing to your gorgeous windows.Helpful Reply

CK on Feb 24, 2016In the past here's what I've done for a client with similar windows albeit in an historic house: Curtain rods were postioned right at the upper level of the straight windows on both sides of the fireplace. Here we hung semi-sheer curtains...not to the floor but just to the bottom of the window. They 'framed' the windows very nicely. (Ordinarily floor length would be suggested but because this is merely to enhance the unique shape, the shorter length makes sense.) The top was left open to allow light but since the "bottoms" were covered it afforded enough privacy. If you need privacy or more light control, you could use this method but use heavier curtains that could be pulled to the outside of the windows and held back with pretty hold-backs mounted on the walls...or merely push them to the sides when privacy/light control isn't an issue.Helpful Reply
