Is there an adhesive option for stencils?
-
Dee on Feb 12, 2016There are lots of stencil adhesives. Your local craft store would have it, or search Amazon under "stencil adhesive". It's a must for a repetitive pattern. It helps keep paint from bleeding under the stencil. Post your results, we'd love to see your mirror!1 marked as helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Feb 12, 2016I would just try masking type. The spray adhesives can get very messy making your painting more difficult.Helpful Reply

MN Mom on Feb 12, 2016Using masking tape may leave a sticky residue. I'd use blue painters tape or Frog tape. Post a photo when you're done!Helpful Reply

Vickie on Feb 13, 2016You might want to try an adhesive made for photographs. It sticks---but a gentle stick, also leaves behind very little residue. Sprays in a fine mist. Good Luck.1 marked as helpful Reply

Tommie on Feb 14, 2016It's a spray adhesive sold at Joann's and other fabric stores. It is used to stick the layers of a quilt together for quilting.Helpful Reply

Tommie on Feb 14, 2016LOL, yes, she's stenciling, spray it on the stencil then place stencil, sticky side down onto surface. The stencil will lay flat while you paint it and will cleanup with water when you are done!1 marked as helpful Reply
