I need to know which letter I should use for a monogram when the last name is spelled as
de Espinosa. Do I use the D? Hope someone out there can help me. Thanks

Actually there are posts on the proper way for this and honestly the initials prior to the last name are believe it not a symbol of there background. If I were you I would not just assume that the d is appropriate. In fact I am not so sure as this might offend the person if you are not correct. You may want to reconsider your project. Just an opinion as not to offend anyone.

Check with any embroidery web site. Unless otherwise desired the initial of the last name goes in the center of a triplet monogram. Sometimes that initial can be a stand alone monogram. Then if you only have two initials they go together with the first name initial first, the last name next. In triplet first initial first, last name initial in the center, then second name initial last. I hope I made sense when I answered your question. ;-)

The letter d means of, so I think that the letter you should use is the E.

I think that because the first letter of your last name is D, that is what you would use for your monogram That is your legal name and unless you go to court and change it to Espinosa without the de in front, then D is your letter to be monogrammed. I hope that makes sense and is helpful to you. Warmest Regards, Sandy
