KMS Woodworks on Feb 05, 2011The first photo in this article http://www.networx.com/article/about-cabinet-facing is my kitchen , theses doors used to be as dark and the cabinets, I sanded the old finish away and applied a clear wiping poly. I'm in the process of building custom cabinets in African Stripped Mahogany ...as time and money permit. Here is a pic of the start of this project. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kmswoodworks/4493379347/in/set-72157623787645678/Helpful Reply

Karen M on Dec 01, 2011Hi I just recently painted the exact same caninets for my sister. they came out really nice. Gave them 2 coats of oil based Coverstain primer and 2-3 coats of a Benjamin Moore kitchen cabinet paint in white dove. She was really pleased with them.Helpful Reply

Pepsigirl13 on Jun 03, 2014you can paint ANYTHING as long as you clean & prep in advance. Take off hardware (be sure to mark so you can put back correctly), wash with TSP (avail hardware or paint store), use good primer and paint. Benjamin Moore is the very best going, per my hubs who's a professional painter.Helpful Reply

Keri on Jun 04, 2014Chalk paint. No sanding or priming. I use Shabbypaints. Com products and just did my master bath and kitchen cabinets. Love this chalk paint because they make avarnish thats great for high humidity/used items. Best part is its 100% toxin free and made in the U.S.A. no fumes or odor from any of their products!Helpful Reply

Carolyn Faye Blizzard Lanier on Jun 14, 2014Yes you can paint them if you use a good primer and some good washable paint, I used latex gloss paint and I love my cabinets, or now days you can buy the paint with the primer already in the paint, good luck and send some pictures when you are finished, also some dental molding would look good on your cabinets.Helpful Reply

Dianna Blumricl on Jul 28, 2014Yes, I did this same thing. I lightly sanded & primed the cabinets. I used Sherwin Williams paint. I was told to try not to touch paint as little as possible for 30 days for paint to really sat up. They turned out beautiful.Helpful Reply
