Master Bedroom Before & After {Love My DIY Home}

We moved into our house 3.5 years ago and it took me until yesterday to get the guest master bedroom up to par. It is the main master but we outfitted it for guests rather than use it ourselves.
It was forest green carpeted with yellow walls sponge painted with a goldish brown. There were holes galore that needed patching with popcorn ceilings - blech!
A couple of years ago our oldest and her DH were moving in with their three boys for a few months, so the carpet went out and new plush brown carpet came in...then not long after they moved out, we replaced the full bed with our old king bed. (Our SIL still complains about that! VBG)
A week ago we added the antique china cabinet for antique books, along with a bunch of other DIY projects brought together to make its own little guest retreat. Then a DIY French photo frame, arrow photo bulletin board, Fab Furniture Flippin Contest pieces, new pillows, antique dresser....etc.
It took us over three years, but we finally got 'er done!
About the only things that are new are two lamps from Shopko and HL that were clearanced at $5 and $3, the carpet, and ceiling fan - oh, and the curtains, the last addition from No More Rack. The rest is upcycled, painted, glued, stapled, bought at garage sales, consignment shops, repurposed or DIY'd.
This is just one of the DIY projects in this master bedroom - there is so much you can DIY to save money and create one-of-a-kind decor.
