Dfm on Feb 16, 2016are those silver plate or higher quality stainless? real silver tarnishes, and is antimicrobial...that is, it kills germs, even the good ones. silver is used in a salve that treats burns, keeping the microbes down so they don't become infected. i'm not so sure i'd want it in a potted plant that needs the good bugs to grow.Helpful Reply

Sue Sanders on Feb 16, 2016Cheap "silverware" can be purchased at Wal Mart. Not real silver. I bought up some for my outdoor picnics as the plastic utensils break so easily when trying to cut up food. The utensils are packaged in bundles and last time I checked you get four, or more, in a bundle for one dollar.Helpful Reply

Sheila D on Feb 16, 2016I see you used polyurethane spray to "seal" spoons. What did you use to paint the spoons and write the names with? Maybe dip in or spray primer & chalkboard paint & then use the pens as suggested as above then find an outdoor, rust-o-ilium type sealer??Helpful Reply
