Homemade Mudroom

We are a busy family of seven and clutter and coats and hats pile up FAST. Our new house doesn't really have a mudroom, but it does have back door with a little entryway. Without breaking the bank, I was able to make a custom mudroom that fits our needs PERFECTLY. This one wall was really the only usable space for ALLLLL of the stuff that comes with small kids!
This is our new DIY mudroom custom made to fit that little wall and to maximize storage!
This was how the space looked a few months ago right when we moved in. The yellow walls are hard to ignore, but the only storage was a few little cubbies under the stairs. Not nearly enough space for all the coats and shoes and backpacks that five small kids produce.
I made the bench to hold five rolling drawers for each kid's shoes. And the hooks above hold ALLLLL our winter coats. See how I organize our five small kids here.
