Deck steps remodel

Hope Williams on Feb 21, 2016Hi Kiddysu. First, take your handrail and use it on the extended partition for your neighbor. Cut your stairs, put your posts in and joists for the extension. Secure everything really well and put your steps where you want them! It appears your complex has shared spaces, be sure you have the legals if doing such a remodel prior to starting. But this is a pretty straight forward job!Helpful Reply

Toni Ray on Feb 21, 2016have the wall step down create planters in each level or even glass block with lighting, and you can have a better environment! You might even want to create the existing wall for herbs hanging in lil pots to have fresh herbs!Helpful Reply

Lynn Palmatier on Feb 21, 2016First check your building ordinances (city or county and homeowners assoc) depending where you live to ensure that your extended parts are within building specs. You will need to reinforce the step where you are removing your portion unless you intend to extend the wall base. You could reuse the one on your side that you are removing. (they look like they are just on the ground. If you are able to clear any ordinances for your homeowners, you will probably need to provide a plan on what you are doing and will need to following building specifications.Helpful Reply
