Help for a possible floor transition

KatAych on Feb 25, 2016You could use indoor/outdoor rug squares on that entire strip in front of the doors. If you want to finish the floor that you have, you can Google that pattern and maker. There are folks out there that still stock it! www.flooringmarket.com www.efloors.com Or contact www.mannington.com directly - I'm sure they could drum up a few squares!!!Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Feb 25, 2016This may sound silly but have you contacted the manufacturer themselves. Personally putting another material right at the front door is going to make the issue stand out more. I would reach out to every flooring store someone has to have the remaining tiles.Helpful Reply

Joanne on Feb 25, 2016Take out additional tiles running full length of doorway then lay a coordinating tile. It will look intentional.Helpful Reply

Lizzie on Feb 25, 2016Just a suggestion, but would it not be possible for you to take the peices on the left and shift them to in front of the doorway.. leaving the unfinished area in the corner. That way the unfinished area could be covered up with a cabinet or dresser. http://www.carpet-wholesale.com/item_251133/Tile_Floors/Adura_Tile/Adura_Tile_LockSolid/Casa_Tile_LockSolid/Chipotle_LockSolid.phpHelpful Reply

Beth H. Makemeprettyagain.blogspot on Feb 26, 2016what Joanne said. But I would stick some wood in there. Make it so you have a landing when you come through the door. You can find remnant wood off of Craigslist for cheap. You probably won't even need a full box. Get a dark wood like walnut or something.Helpful Reply

Gale O'Neal on Feb 26, 2016Why not take out all the edges around the room and add a contrasting wood tone to give a more cohesive look. Like old houses have with wooden inlays but just do the border around the room.Helpful Reply

Dottie Weirich on Feb 26, 2016T, I agree with Gale O'Neal for one great option but also IF you evened up the empty space, you could place a rectangular wood or tile with maybe with your family name or WELCOME FRIENDS . Something that would be totally yours. I don't know if this is a back entrance or front so it's just an idea. Oh, you can use a much lighter color vinyl tile for this also by having it printed on.Helpful Reply

Teresa on Feb 26, 2016My grandmother carpeted her living room and left a tiled area, a square shape, of tile with a small border of metal trim around it at the front door for dirty shoes, etc.Helpful Reply

Cindy on Feb 27, 2016I would make it look intentional and do an "entry" area there by the door. I would do a contrasting tone, or a tile look. I would make it a larger area, so it looks like an entry.Helpful Reply

Moxie on Feb 27, 2016you might be able to get some tiles the same size and have a painter/artist "match" you tiles; but If it was mine; I would probably remove some tiles and use a different tile in an area to look intentional like they mention above and the board idea sound amazingHelpful Reply
