A Hot Mess Turned Into a Mighty Steed

A thrifty find was this horse head someone with a, um shall we say, different sort of decor sense, spray painted bright lime green. I mean seriously, what could they have been thinking?? Now some of you would have looked at it and kept on walking. Not me, I looked deep into his eyes and sensed sadness. This once mighty stead was destined for the glue factory. He was humiliated. His honor was covered in a fugly paint job. Into my cart he went! I was determined to return him to him his pride and glory.
I decided I needed to cover that lime green first. I had a can of Valspar satin black spray paint on hand and knew that would do the job nicely.
It took several coats but the green was gone! I do believe I saw a sparkle in my stead's eye! Okay, agreed, maybe it was the fumes.
Oh Wow!! He looks so much better already doesn't he?
I grabbed one the blog worlds not so secret weapon of choice. TaTaTaDa! Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze. ORB to those of you in the on the secret. I initially thought I might give him the go over with the blog worlds other not so secret weapon, Heirloom White or even stick with the black but ORB won out.
Look at him now! Oh. My. Goodness! I could not be happier with the change. If he could, I just know he would shake his glistening mane, stomp his hooves, and snort with happiness. His self-respect has been restored! He is once again a Mighty Steed!
