I just LOVE '60s fashion and wanted to create some inspiring wall art for my craft room...so I paired vintage sewing patterns with Mod-era bed sheets to create these whimsical framed wall hangings!
Looking for patterns to make your own? I have a few available in my shop!

Who else loves vintage sewing patterns...anyone? Anyone? I know I do!
To create simple but pretty wall art, I grabbed some cheap picture frames from the thrift store...
And raided my stash of pretty bed linens in vintage patterns...
I deconstructed the picture frames- setting aside the glass pane and frame itself. Using the cardboard insert, I cut a piece of fabric larger than the insert.
Pulling it taut, I fused the fabric to the cardboard to make a pretty backing. When I was finished with that step, I then fused the sewing pattern envelopes to the center of my fabric-covered cardboard. Here's an affiliate link for the product I used! It's so versatile, isn't it??
I spray painted the picture frames and put them back together again-...ta-da! Fantastic vintage fashion wall art, perfect for my craft/sewing room!

Thank you for the trip down memory lane. I've seen these actual patterns when sewing was something I actually did routinely... I remember going to our local fabric shop(s) as a young adult & perusing the pattern books a whole afternoon. It was relaxing & fun. This is such a unique craft idea. Great idea!
