Built a bench seat from old pelmets

Being a bit of a collector I had three lovely turned wooden legs (tricky with just three), but I am working on the kitchen, so a bench seat was the way to go. I used some of the pelmets that I have taken down from the windows, 60+ year old Rimu (New Zealand native timber) and it was so dry and easy to cut. The box cushion was my first attempt, as was the piping, so not too bad, this isn't the final fabric (not enough for two cushions), I'm in the process of making a box seat for storage, so will get co-ordinating fabric for both.

This is really lovely. We have the same type of seating in our teeny kitchen and I recently made new cushions for them as well. I love your legs on here, might steal this idea for ours.
