Guest room remodel

Here is a bedroom I remodeled after my son moved out- changed into a guest room. We had to redo the drywall, tear up the carpet and replace part of the floor (window was left cracked and rain came in). I have another view I will ... » post of the other side of the room- replaced the closet door too. My budget was $300...I came in well under that. The Parquet flooring is actually stick down tile from Big Lots- that was my biggest cost at $60. The bed was from my oldest son- bed frame $20 at Salvation army, headboard $5 at yard sale, down comforter $20 with discounts, the curtain (shower curtain which I used seam tape to make a rod pocket), table cloth, dust ruffle and pillow shams- Bag sale $5. Lamp $8 at yard sale and picked shade out of someone's trash! Rug was $15 at yard sale. Chair $25 on local list. Computer desk was $30 at yard sale. Various decorations were $1-$3 each at yard sales. Door was $25 at a home depot going out of business sale. Armoire is not in the photo, but I picked that up for free. Oh and the wall paper- box of it for $5 (which was my inspiration for this room) ...but had to buy one more roll online for $40! Only things I reused in the room was an antique chair and the table.

Uploaded wrong photo on the one...it does not show the curtain in the one I posted. Oops! This was before the last roll of wallpaper came in so you can still see the green paint after the window.

Michelle E, it is a beautiful job. I noticed you labeled BEFORE and AFTER. In this case it was not necessary because the change is so obvious.

This is was our 3rd project. The other 2 I don't have before photos. We redid the parlor and the master bath. I should have another room done in a month or less. Depends on weather- working on it on rainy days as the farm needs attention on good days. We already started the tear out process of the guest bath. After 3 boys and one small remodel (tile, new sink and vanity and wallpaper) years ago, it needed it again since the tub cracked and we couldn;t find anything to repair it that held. ...»
So water damage. I should not have been shocked, but I was to find that there was mold growing on the inside of the walls- even though there was none showing on the outside of the drywall. I refinished a cast iron claw foot tub my hubby brought home...someone was going to throw it off the second story when they updated thier bath! DH rescued it and it sat outside for 3 yrs waiting patiently :) The porcelian was good, just the exterior needed sandblasted and painted. I rescued a pedestal sink out of someone's trash and picked up a mirror for $5 at a yard sale that matches my bathroom mirror. So I will refinish that with silver paint and antique the finish with some rub-on paste like I did the other one. We are knocking out part of a wall and making an alcove for the toilet to give a little more space since the tub was not going to fit otherwise (6 inches too long).

What did you use for flooring in that guest room?

It is actually stick down tile that looks like parquet wood flooring. I chose it because I will also use this room for whelping and raising pups, so needed something that was easy to disinfect.
