Shelves With a Twist Using #UnicornSPiT

Using crates from Menards and a little ingenuity we came up with a bright and cheerful shelving option!
We started with crates from Menards ... my go to for color and
These shelves are going to be used for our son's room to hold his large collection of Nut Crackers. We needed quite a few but didn't want the wall to be over loaded. We came up with the ides to cut the crates in 1/2. More bang for the buck! My husband measured where they should be cut in 1/2 and went to town!
The hardest part of this project was removing 3 of the slats. They are really stapled in there! Once he had the pieces removed we used the left over pieces and attached it to the other end of the crate so that they look symmetrical.
A light sanding was all that was needed next!
Now we have 8 where there were only 4 before!
We had fun trying to figure out the best colors to use. We knew we wanted them to be different and vibrant and did not disappoint!
And BOOM! Color! This is what they looked like before applying Arm-R-Seal.
They look amazing even without the Nut Crackers displayed yet. We are pretty happy with how they came out! What do you think?
Enjoyed the project?
