I have wanted a Roman Shade at my kitchen window for a long time. I recently repainted my family room, kitchen and dining room and needed to change the curtain in my kitchen. I found the instructions on Pintrest! I adapted them to fit my window and use a curtain panel I purchased at Wal-Mart.
Roman Shade InstructionI took the inside measurements of my window which was 44 inches by 46 inches.I decided to purchase a window panel from WalMart since most fabric is 35 to 36 inches wide. This way I would not have to cut and sew panels together.I measured and remeasured to be sure the curtain would fit inside my window.
I also purchased a cheap mini blind from Walmart and some craft glue and heat and bond.
The cord that pulls the blind up and down is on the inside of the fabric between the blind and the window. This seemed to work best for me. I was extremely happy with the finished product. Good Luck.
