DIY Chalk Paint Transformation

I purchased this end table at the thrift store for $7.50.
I used black craft paint and vaseline on areas I wanted to distress later.
I used latex paint I had on hand and mixed up my own chalk paint.
I did not paint the top of the table, you'll see why later.
I sanded the top and then I stained it.
I used stain we had leftover from another project.
Look at that beautiful wood grain!
