Verna B on Mar 15, 2012It is a drying rack my mamaw had one in her house on the door in the kitchen when I was a little girl I used to stand on the chair and hang her dish towels on it, I asked her one time why we did not have them in our house and she said city folk do not know how to build a good house. Teresa A on May 13, 2012It is an old fashioned clothes dryer. You can spread the slats apart so the clothes hang separately. I have one in my house that I can raise and lower the height of the slats. I can't see from the photo if the slats adjust like that on this one. My Grandmother tells me one can dry a set of double bed sheets on one of these. I use mine to hang my winter coat on a hanger to let it dry before it goes into the closet. It is a very handy item.Helpful Reply
