Have you seen the adorable Fairy Gardens that are so popular right now? For the last year or so, I have been staring at a small stump in the back yard imagining how to turn it into a little fairy house
Did you also know that the main attraction is the little Fairy Door? Me neither! So I wanted to start my Fairy Garden with a Fairy Door that even Tinker Bell would be proud to call home! As I was unpacking our St Patrick's decorations, I came across the horseshoes I had painted gold last year! I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate all the luck that a gold horseshoe represents and it would be a perfect frame for a magical entrance for my fairies!
We started by tracing the horseshoe on a piece of plywood and cutting it out.
We stained our little cut out door and used a spray on water seal such as Thompson's Water seal to preserve it since it will be displayed outside.
We found these sweet little hinges at our local hardware store! And the little metal loop was perfect for our door handle.
We screwed the gold painted horseshoe to the wooden door and attached the little handle with the nails provided.
This little Horseshoe Fairy Door is the perfect place to start my Fairy Garden! For the complete directions and material list needed, just visit us at My Turn for us! (Clickable Link below)
