Sherrie S on Mar 19, 2012I wish I could help you with forsythia which I could grow in PA with no problem. Impossible in Florida. I love the look. Lilacs are also impossible in Florida but I still love those plants.Helpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Mar 19, 2012Lilacs can be propagated in a number of ways, Terry, including by root sprouts. The one caveat is that the new plants will not be true to the parent if your lilac has been grafted. I'm not sure if this is common with Korean lilacs. You should look for a graft union near to the soil level to be sure. You'll find directions for all kind of propagation in this article from Cornell University Cooperative Extension: http://counties.cce.cornell.edu/chemung/agriculture/publications/growing-lilacs.pdf Forsythia is very easily propagated from stem cuttings.Helpful Reply

Lori H on Mar 21, 2012Forsythia are easy :) Just take a fresh cutting from a healthy bush, dust it with a rooting hormone, then stick it into some rich soil. Keep it properly watered and in no time you should have some roots :) My mom (in N Ga) started with one bush and now has a whole row (approx. 25) lining her property. They are beautiful!Helpful Reply
