How to add gold specks & glitter when I resurface my kitchen counters?

After a prime coat on my Formica counter, when or how can I add glitter or gold specks?? Maybe in between my faux granite colors that I will be putting on counter??

Sprinkle the glitter after each color while the paint is wet so it will stick. Your final sprinkle should be before you put down the clear sealer coat. This will add dimension to the finished look rather than just look laid down on the surface.
