Impatiens and Powdery mildew

360 Sod (Donna Dixson) on Mar 22, 2012Well, yes I have. And yes I have some beautiful Impatiens in stock right now. Europe has a major problem currently with infected stock. Florida has shown some as well. The products coming from Ohio and other northern states is clean so far. Will it eventually hit us? Maybe. This Year ? Doubtful, but who knows. The big seed companies are working hard to come up with solutions even as wee speak. Impatiens are the number one bedding crop in the country, so you can bet they are doing everything they can to keep them clean. You can read some pretty dire prediction on the web right now though. So bottom line, yes you can find clean Impatiens right now, but if you are not comfortable buying them, then use an alternative.Helpful Reply

360 Sod (Donna Dixson) on Mar 22, 2012You could use Torenia, or Browallia, maybe some Ageratum, Fuchia, and of course Coleus. I like Balsam as well , if you can find it. Snapdragons will take some shade as well as Nicotiana. Off the top of my head I can't remember how much shade Angelonia can take, but I think it will take some.Helpful Reply
