Sorry about the typo. I have tried to root the pink dogwood without success. Can one be started from seed? -
Phyllis W, Yes you can try the seed takes 100 to 130 days at 41 degrees) there are some pretty specific steps Dr Dirr suggests to get a good root cutting from the Cornus florida. You need soft wood cuttings taken immediately after bloom, does better in peat/perlite mix vs a sand mix. Put under a mist, may take up to 10 weeks to get any results. Is the Florida dogwood the only pink one? -
no, but it is the most common of the pink ones. The new Dirr book didn't not offer any additional advice on how to propagate the dogwood tree. -
