This is a fun and easy project to make with your family or friends. These doormats can be decorated in all sorts of ways. You can see a lot of different wooden doormat examples if you click through to my blog post.
This is the doormat I ended with. I wanted to tie it in to the front of my house so I choose two different sample colors of paint from Home Depot and used tape to tape off the lines and "Welcome" sign.
Here are the steps to building the doormat. For more details, click through to the blog post. There you will find a list of materials and tools needed.
This picture shows how I painted my doormat. The taping took some time, but painting was easy and I then coated it with two coats of polyurethane.
I love how it ties into the front of the house, and it was also a fun project to make! To see more details and pictures, click through to the blog.

Creatively Living on Nov 18, 2016Thank you Emily! I think it's the original and the house was built in 1904. I love the design, but for insulation purposes, I do think about replacing it from time to time.
