Classic Black-and-White Kitchen Renovation

As Stefanie was touring this vacation rental with a plan to purchase it, she knew the outdated kitchen would need some work. After she bought the house, her mind already was churning with ideas for replacing the green laminate countertops and the matching backsplash. She figured that while she was at it, she might as well put in a new under-mount sink and faucet, too.
The home is located in a rustic, mountainous setting, so Stefanie didn’t want to go too modern, which is her usual style preference. She decided to keep the white kitchen cabinets, which were in good shape and fit the feel of the locale. She ended up selecting dark quartz countertops with small flecks of shimmering silver that highlight the stainless steel appliances, which also were in place when she bought the home.
By far the most striking feature in the completed project is the backsplash, which comprises both glass and stone tiles. Stefanie said she gave the workman installing the backsplash a sample of the product so he could figure out the best way to cut the different materials.
In the end, the installation looks flawless and the texture created by the tiles’ varying thicknesses makes visitors want to reach out and touch them. The kitchen also includes under-mount lighting that really shows off the array of backsplash tiles.
The renovated kitchen looks completely different even though Stefanie only replaced the countertops and backsplash. The classic black-and-white combination is offset by accents of red throughout the space for a visually stunning feel overall. The new combination has brought the home closer to Stefanie’s usual style aesthetic while still fitting in with the mountain landscape.
In fact, the large window over the sink allows visitors to enjoy gorgeous views while standing in the beautiful kitchen.
Stefanie says the next project for this vacation rental will be new flooring. She uses her property management company for small renovations on the home when she is not present, so there is plenty of time for remodeling in between her visits.
