Help. Some of my butterfly bushes are slow to bud out. What causes this?

Douglas Hunt on Apr 04, 2012Bonnie, in my experience buddleia are often quite tardy in leafing out. If you prune them back just before they break dormancy, as you should, and see green just under the bark, there is nothing to worry about.Helpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Apr 30, 2012I'm not sure where you are, Bonnie, but you generally do not want to cut them back in the fall. Wait until spring, just before they start leafing out again.Helpful Reply
