Stephanie from The Silly Pearl is joining us for her very first Country Chic Paint blog post! Come read all about this antique table she refurbished with Tropical Cocktail.
I was so excited to try Country Chic Paint on my grandmother’s Vintage Telephone Table. It’s a special piece to me, but I wanted to give it a new life in our home.
I chose Country Chic Paint Furniture and Home Decor Paint in Tropical Cocktail, as she had a turquoise rotary phone perched on top of it. I wish I had saved the phone, but the color reminds me of it!
The table was originally a chippy beige (My hipster grandma says, “I was into the vintage chippy look before the chippy vintage look was cool!”). And it was covered with some contact paper, probably from the 1970s.
After removing the paper and sanding it a bit, I could see it was a teal green color before that. I don’t know if she painted it beige or if my great grandparents did or if it was already like this. I wish I could ask them!
I finished my piece with some Country Chic Paint Tough Coat Satin Top Coat as I decided to display the table on our covered front porch, by the front door.

I used the original drawer pull.
I’m sure my grandmother would ask me why I made such a fuss over it, but I hope she likes it!
