Just jumping on the blog today for a quick sec to post the plans for this ammmmmmazzing pedestal coffee table. Since posting our completed pedestal table last night I’ve received quite a few emails & comments asking for the plans for this coffee table. Although we did make a few customizations to it , okay… a lot- we didn’t make the plans. Continue reading to grab the link!
For as long as I can remember we’ve loved reading Shanty2Chic’s website & following them on Instagram. Not only are those girls super awesome builders, but amazing decorators too. I saw this coffee table a while back but I thought it would take forever to build. Things that take a long time to build don’t usually get added to the agenda, unless it’s a custom order. Well, we finally took the plunge and yes, it is time consuming.. but it’s so dang easy. Trust me – you’re basically just layering and nailing. I’m just compiling a list below of items you need to do this project. You can rent tools from your nearest hardware store if you do not have them.
TOOLS YOU NEED TO MAKE A PEDESTAL COFFEE TABLE

-Table Saw

-Mitre Saw

-Drill

-Driver

-2″ Screws

-Brad Nailer

-Silicone or Wood Glue ( Whatever your preference is )

-Level

-Clamps

-Level Work Surface

-Stain or Paint

-Poly

-Two Brushes

-Rags

-Orbital Sander ( Hand Sander )
It’s a bit of a list, but if you’ve been working with wood before, you *should* have everything on that list. It’s just the basic basic of wood working! So first thing is first, head on over to Shanty2Chic and grab their plans for this coffee table. They have a millions photos & explain everything pretty well. As you can tell from our coffee table, it looks a bit different. We basically just used what we had in our scrap pile. I do have to say, for all you Canadians, this project isn’t cheap. But it’s for sure WAY cheaper than a RH coffee table. We figured out the cost after all the wood, moulding and supplies if we had purchased it all it would of cost us over 211.30 after taxes – That’s just buying pretty basic materials from Home Depot and made out of pine. Keep in mind, S2C states they pay 130 for their table, but everything is way cheaper in the states. All my woodworking friends from south can’t believe how much us Canadians pay for our wood/supplies. All in all, where could you find a coffee table for under 200.00 as stunning as this one? Plus, it is made out of 100% real wood.

Hi Sara, I like your stain better than Shabby2chic's. But the "click here" to see your Beachwood mix isn't active. I also tried your link to "see more, the page has a 403 error :(. Would please let me know about your stain? Thanks!!!

Talent is an ability that someone is born with. Skill is the learned ability to carry out a task with pre-determined results. You have both. You couldn't buy a coffee table like that in the states for under $1000. Great, outstanding, and super job!

I only posted a toy box/bench I made from my granddaughters crib when she out grew it for one of the talented Hometalkers.
