Iron Art on a Budget
Normally, I want things done the cheapest way possible. So, I'll show you an idea I had and the way I (read: MY HUSBAND) was able to incorporate it into our new home. You can call it "Champagne taste on a beer budget" but I like to call it "Inferior Design."
Referring to the pic above... I think it looks expensive. Pretty sure that it is. Plus, "average fabrication lead time 4 weeks from the completion of designs". Uh, no. I don't have that kind of time. (Actually, I do. I'm just impatient.)
I had found a wrought iron bowl at a yard sale a few years back. I think I gave $5 for it. It had just been sitting in my garage patiently waiting for inspiration to strike me. Finally, it did.
As luck would have it, I'm married to a man that can do ANYTHING. He drilled a hole into the center of the basket, ran the cord through and attached the basket to the light cord. Not bad for a knock-off, huh? I think I might keep him. I'm very fortunate to have my hubby. As crazy as some of my ideas have sounded (ahem...the birdcage light), he's agreed to help me. No questions asked. (For the record, I think the birdcage lamp came out just fine. ;-) You can see for yourself...http://www.tooinspiredtosleep.com/2016/06/birdcage-lamp/)
