How do u dry gourds to make bird houses/feeders?
-
Terri J on May 30, 2013Cindy, I know that I accidently did get mine dried before but it was just because I had put them in the pantry and forgot about them. I don't think that is the proper way, but it worked. I would like to know too, and will check Google when I have time.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on May 30, 2013Bring them in out of the weather at the end of the growing season, hang in a basement or garage and they should be fine next spring. Since these grow on the ground it is a good Idea to wash the dirt off before so start the drying process. We used a bird house gourd for one of our fairy house projects a few years ago. Since Our climate is winter most of the year and gardening is not very practical, we bought these gourds online from some Amish farmers in the midwest. http://flickeflu.com/set/72157623572104620Helpful Reply
