Brighten Electric, Inc. on Apr 16, 2012Within 50 foot and it must be line of site. Line of site is being able to see any part of the tub from the disconnect. The five foot rule is from waters edge not the edge of the tub. Also keep in mind I don't know if you have any local codes that may change these national rules.Helpful Reply

LandlightS on Apr 17, 2012I would strongly suggest you check with the local authorities. New Jersey is far more strict. I'm sure you will get proper "local" code info when you apply for the permit ( prior to start of the work )Helpful Reply
