Garage Organizing Tips

Tidy up the garage (or basement, or attic even) using these simple, cheap, and easy organizing tips!
Everyone has a messy garage, right? Ok, this isn't too too bad but I make a concerted effort to clean it up every few months, otherwise it gets out of hand. Come see how many times I've cleaned up the garage, ugh, over on my blog Flipping the Flip at humboldtartdept.blogspot.com!
If you have exposed construction, 2x4's are your new best friend! I cut a 3 foot long piece in half then cut the ends at 30 degrees.
Using two long screws per board, I attached them to the vertical studs of the garage creating super handy storage! I laid a few of our long handled gardening tools across and man, what a huge difference! I used just two here but you could go all the way across or put more above or below.

As you can see too, I used some cord on our chair cushions so those can be hung up on hooks.
Making use of vertical space is super key in a garage, so I advocate hanging things up as much as possible. Even a dog bed -- here I put a grommet in the zipper flap.
Using a leftover clothesline scrap from my macrame-ish plant hangars, I pulled it through, knotted and now the dog bed can hang up too!
Ahhh, as you can see, infinitely better! (Dog bed not shown as it was in use.)
