Adding Faux Beams and Some Spring to the Living Room

There's nothing like warmer weather to give you a fresh new outlook and cause you to start some new projects! I have been wanting rustic beams in our living room for a long time and when I painted the dry wall divider in our room to look like wood, my husband got inspired and created some faux beams.
Our living room has French shutters instead of curtains and recently I painted the trim around the window to look like rustic wood.
I used two colors of paint - SW Deer Valley and SW Chateau Brown to streak on the paint and then followed with a roller that adds a wood grain look.
Then we added wood down our walls and my husband built these beams.
We're loving the rustic look mixed with the Spring florals. Please visit the blog to enjoy lots more pictures of this room.
Hope you're enjoying warm, sunny weather in your part of the country!

Creatively Living on Apr 26, 2016Beautiful! It really helps the entire room tie in together. I'd love to do something like this in my archway between my living and dining room.
