Why Are We Ripping Apart This Beautiful Custom Tile Shower?

This Atlanta hometown owner had hired a contractor to remodel their bathroom, and were not impressed with their renovation experience. When shortly after completion, water marks started appearing on the ceiling below the shower you better believe they did NOT call the original contractor back. They called AK!

The homeowner knew now they wanted a professional design firm to oversee the repair of their custom shower once and for all. Unfortunately the leak required much of the existing tile to be torn apart; but in the end, the shower was fully functional, leak-free, and just as lovely as it's wonderful owners!

Can you tell us what they did wrong with the initial install? Were there plumbing issues or poor tiling issues?

I'll just guess that maybe the liner was improperly installed.

That's one of those tasks that I ALWAYS take my time on. Oh, and a 24hr water test is NEVER a bad idea. Have been doing them for years and never a leak! (knock on tile)

Water is not our friend. Always double check and water test.
