2013 Perennial of the Year - Variegated Solomon's Seal
by

Since my house faces north I am well acquainted with shade annuals and perennials. I use Variegated Solomon's Seal mostly as a foliage plant with my hostas. It spreads rather slowly in my Zone 3 garden by underground rhizomes. If you would like more information on the Perennial Plant Association's - 2013 Perennial of the year check out this link from Purdue Yard & Garden News. http://www.hort.purdue.edu/ext/solomonslp-o-y.html
