Craigslist Buffet Turned Media Cabinet
by
Melody
(IC: blogger)
I purchased a buffet on Craigslist and decided to use it as a media cabinet in my family room. I repaired, stripped, sanded and re-stained the top in a dark stain topped with Annie Sloan soft dark wax. I painted the rest of the buffet in a homemade chalk paint in a creamy white. I lightly distressed the paint and finished it off with Annie Sloan clear wax. The handles were spray painted in oil rubbed bronze.
Please know this is nowhere near as good as Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan. There is no comparison. This was only 3 months after I had found out about Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan. At this time I had no idea how much better it was than homemade versions of chalk paint. Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan might be a bit more expensive than regular latex paint, but a little goes a very long way.
If you have any questions about using Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, check out this video from a Hometalk hangout.
