How to replace the water filter in my refrigerator

by Louise
I need to change the water filter in my Frigidaire refrigerator but I must be a dunce. The directions say to "remove the filter by pushing on the end/face of the filter" and then slide it out. I assume the "end/face" is the end of the cylinder that's closest to me. When I push on that, nothing moves. Am I not pushing hard enough? I must confess I've had the fridge or 2 yrs and this is the first time I've tried to replace it. Actually, I think I tried it once before and gave up when I couldn't figure it out.

I would read the manuel before you do anything,as if this is still under warranty it will be voided should you touch something wrong. If you cannot locate the paperwork there should be a 800 hundred number for you to call.

Yes, you need to push in on the end till you hear a click then just pull the filter out. Insert the new filter, the ribs on the sides line up with the grooves in the fridge, push it in till you here a click and you done.

@Louise There is a number stamped on the filter.I would just double check to make sure it is the correct one.

Check on youtube for great visuals on anything. I always go there since I'm a visual learner and have never been disappointed. Good luck :)

You can also go to the store where you bought it, have them show you on one of their similar models.
