Designs by BSB on Apr 26, 2012Id say no. Not without a substantial underlayment. In addition, you may have a threshold challenge at the door tying it into the floor in the adjoining room/hallway. Best answer is to tear out and put down new smooth underlayment.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Apr 27, 2012If you "level" the tile with a product like custom building products "level quick" then you would end up with a cement like flat and smooth surface. Without it you will have dip and hills that could "telegraph" up through the tile. You also need to think about the height of multiple layers of flooring causing problems. I would recommend taking the tile out and ensuring the sub floor or underlayment is perfectly flat and smooth.Helpful Reply
