Repurposed Copper Lanterns-Outdoor Decor on a Budget

I love decorating outdoors with thrifted or repurposed items. Who wants to spend a lot of money on yard stuff only to have it ruined by the elements? As I was going through the garage to get out my outdoor stuff I came across these hideous Christmas lanterns hiding in the back of my shelf.
I thought I could reuse them but first things first those ugly red metal ribbon do-hickeys had to be removed.
And to my surprise, they popped right off! Seriously! ....It is NEVER that easy but this time I got lucky.
Those do-hickeys had to go! Aaaahhh, much better now!
So now I wanted to incorporate them in my yard. I have a lush spot in my yard with lots of hostas that gets very little sun and I wanted to add lighting and some something to jazz this area up so these will work great!
Much better. I love how the turned out. Once the metal piece was off I cleaned them up and popped in a tea light and was good to go.
Here is the before and after. I am so glad I rediscovered these in my garage and was able o put them to use. For more thrift store makeovers visit my blog.
