I love my backyard birds and saw this unusual bird yesterday. Does anyone know what it is?

He has purplish-black body, the under part is white. He has a red throat and a yellow beak. He is about the size of a crow.

I believe that is a Rose Breasted Grosbeak. http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Rose-br...

Yes, that is definitely a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak! Had one show up at my feeders yesterday.

Thanks. I have a 4 prong shepards hook and a squirrel baffle under the feeders. This does help, plus I have a cat.
